Mandatory COVID-19 genetic vaccination was adopted as policy for Canadian post-secondary institutions as a condition for enrollment. Canadian researchers conducted interviews to study how vaccination policies, both on and off campus, shaped the discourse and social behaviours of students. Categorization of people by vaccination status was used to control behaviour. The authors highlight that COVID-19 policies crossed the boundaries of human rights, medical ethics and democratic governance opening the possibility of social and medical control.
