In November 2022, the “National Citizens Inquiry (NCI)” was launched with 4 Commissioners travelling to 8 cities across Canada to receive testimonies from 295 witnesses. On September 14, 2023, the NCI Commissioners released their interim report. The NCI Commissioners and volunteers have gathered and summarized evidence and offered critically important recommendations. The CCCA particularly commends those who testified as their courage in speaking out helps to deepen our collective understanding of the real issues. Even though the interim report is a fraction of the final report, it highlights critical issues, especially those related to the recent changes made to the regulatory approval process for therapeutic products in Canada. Read the CCCA statement regarding the report’s recommendations.
