Kansas Senator and MD calls for early treatment options for Covid-19 patients now: Delayed treatment worsens outcomes

The state of Kansas has passed Bill 2280  allowing health care providers to prescribe off-label medications for early treatment of COVID-19. This bill prevents disciplinary action against those prescribing medications such as ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, and fluvoxamine. Senator Dr. Mark Steffen has written a letter to health care providers across the state reminding them of this new legislation. Bill 2280 offers more options to help clinicians provide safe and effective early treatments. Dr. Steffen notes that delaying treatment worsens patient outcomes and failure to treat is not acceptable.
