Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic drug that has been around for 40 years. Over 3.7 billion doses have been given over 4 decades, mostly in tropical and lower income countries. It is a generic drug, which means that its profitable patent expired years ago so it can now be made by several manufacturers rather than exclusively by Merck, who held the original patent. In 2015, it earned a Nobel Prize in medicine for its contribution to world health outcomes.
In short, Ivermectin is an exceptionally effective drug at managing parasitic infections, both in humans and animals. And it has an astounding safety record after about 4 billion doses administered over four decades. This is one contributing factor to its founders receiving a Nobel Prize in Medicine for its development.
Then along came SARS CoV-2. Ivermectin was found to be very effective at managing COVID-19 through both its antiviral properties and its anti-inflammatory potential. Unlike vaccines that target just one aspect of the SARS CoV-2 virus, namely the spike protein, Ivermectin has a much broader approach to neutralizing the virus. This makes it an excellent option for prevention and the early treatment of COVID-19.

Uttar Pradesh, the largest province in India with a population of about 230 million (about 6 times the population of Canada) is a prime example of what can be achieved when Ivermectin is distributed widely by local Public Health authorities. Here is a link to their government reports tracking COVID-19.
The deaths due to COVID-19 show about .32 per day or one death every three days from Covid in April 2022. This is in a population that is only 49% fully vaccinated. Compare this to Canada where Ivermectin’s use is discouraged by medial authorities. Canada reported a 3 day rolling average of 45 deaths per day during April, 2022 deaths with a population over age 12 that is 85.6% fully vaccinated.

Ivermectin is clearly being suppressed in Canada as much as it is being encouraged in Uttar Pradesh. Unfortunately for Canadians, it seems more political than scientific. Effective early treatment of a SARS-CoV-2 infection would eliminate the need for emergency measures, which would directly conflict with the government vaccine narrative. Some people in higher risk situations, such as long-term care workers, may be advised to take ivermectin prophylactically or preventively. See the FLCCC protocol for dosage recommendations and other support options.
So where can I get Ivermectin in Canada? Ivermectin is an approved drug in Canada, just not for COVID-19. Your doctor can write you an off-label prescription for it based on your body weight. If your physician needs some science-based evidence, you can provide them with this article from the Front Line Critical Care Alliance.
